I spent last Saturday in the country.

I got loose in the kitchen and made a demonstration video. Bon Appetit!

I belong to the Tholos group, a small group of creative women, who are working together to perfect their craft. We were recently given a directive to describe how we might break a creative drought through the metaphor of a fertility dance. I chose a multimedia approach using images and music. (I added some of my own percussion to this clip)

Here is the finished product: “Woman Dance”

This morning I took my camera and went for a drive. I stopped at Pt. Vicente Lighthouse for the view and ended up having a encounter with a group of ravens. It’s hard to tell from the video but they allowed me to get within a few feet of them. They are BIG birds!  You’ll see this one bird that I call “Grumpy Grandpa” (or maybe Grandma).  This bird just sat there, still and silent, just watching.  Very regal.  There were also about four or five ravens swirling around me; some came so close I could hear the swoosh of their wings. My guess is that there were nests around there and they were just telling me to not get too close.

I apologize in advance for speaking baby talk to them; I don’t speak baby talk to babies, only animals. It’s an annoying habit and I do sound pretty goofy.  I also apologize for the number of times I use the word “amazing.”  But in truth, they were!

When I finally turned to leave, I found a group of people standing there watching me. The ravens and I must have put on a good show for them. Anyway, without further delay, here are The Ravens……….
